Dr Mikael Leidenhag

Founder and Director


Mikael is the current director and founder of Digital Inclusion Research Hub, has an MA in Public Policy and Management, MA in Religious Studies, and a PhD in Philosophy of Religion. He has been a researcher at Uppsala University, the University of Edinburgh, Queen’s University Belfast, and is currently an online resource developer at the University of St Andrews. He has previously conducted policy research for several non-profit organisations regarding health-inequalities in vulnerable communities, including issues of digital exclusion. 

Alyson Hwang

Research Advisor


Alyson is a Research Advisor at the Digital Inclusion Research Hub. As a policy researcher, she has published reports on the topics of education, employment and technology. She has an MSc from the London School of Economics (LSE) in International Social and Public Policy, where she conducted fieldwork on the digital exclusion and its impact on learning for KS2-3 pupils in rural pockets of Southwest England. She also holds a BA in Education Studies from the Institute of Education (UCL). She currently works at the cross-party think tank, Policy Connect.

Dhuha Alyousef

Marketing and Communications Officer


Dhuha is currently pursuing a Master’s in Management at the University of Glasgow. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh, where she focused on marginalised identities, exploring questions of power and justice in society. With work experience in marketing and communications, and a dissertation on the ethics of digital marketing, she is passionate about using marketing and communications tools for social impact.

Ivelina Koseva

Social Media Officer



Ivelina is a creative professional with a multidisciplinary background in Fine Arts, Photography, Video Games, Yoga, Teaching, and Life Coaching. She holds two Master’s degrees in Fine Art, a CELTA certification, and multiple teaching and coaching credentials, including ongoing training in Integrated Attachment Theory and the Relationship Recovery Process (RRP) for healing childhood trauma. She is currently developing Inner Vibe Intimacy (IVI)—a heart-led space devoted to helping people reconnect with their core truth and authenticity as a path to deeper, more genuine connection with others. Through her work in digital media, psychology, and storytelling, Ivelina uses social platforms as tools for empowerment, education, and inner transformation. 

Yeo Joung Suh

Research Officer

Yeo Joung is currently a policy and campaign officer for the Conscious Advertising Network. She holds an MSc in International Social and Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her professional background includes advocacy and policy roles at international organisations such as Save the Children Korea and the Korean Committee for UNICEF, as well as experience as a researcher at a government-funded research institute in South Korea. Her key interests include online safety, information integrity and inclusion. 

William Cherry

Research Officer

William recently completed a Master’s degree in Criminology at the University of Manchester having been awarded a Bachelors in History and Politics at the University of Sheffield. Throughout his studies he focused on qualitative research in to a number of policy areas including social and public health, global security and the effects of language choices on policy outcomes. He has previously conducted research for a national harm reduction and drug checking organisation in relation to his postgraduate dissertation.

Isatou Touray

Research Officer

Isatou has a background in mental health nursing from the University of Nottingham and a master’s degree in Global Health and Mental Health from St George’s, University of London. Her academic and professional experience spans NHS mental health services, health policy research, and culturally responsive care. Isatou has a particular interest in how digital exclusion intersects with mental health, migration, and socioeconomic inequality. Her work is driven by a commitment to equity, accessibility, and improving systemic outcomes for underserved communities.
